Author Guidelines

 

1. Scope of the Journal

Al Muqdad Journal of Sciences publishes original research articles, review papers, technical notes, and short communications in all fields of science, including natural sciences, applied sciences, engineering, medical sciences, agricultural sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. The journal encourages contributions that present innovative methodologies, experimental results, and critical reviews that advance scientific knowledge.

2. Manuscript Types

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words)

  • Review Papers (6,000–10,000 words)

  • Short Communications / Technical Notes (2,000–3,500 words)

  • Case Studies (up to 5,000 words)

3. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the OJS system at [Insert Journal Website Link].

  • Initial Submission: Authors may submit their manuscripts in a draft form for the purpose of review.

  • Post-Acceptance Requirement: If the manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author will be notified and provided with a time frame (usually 2–3 weeks) to:

    1. Revise the manuscript according to the official journal template.

    2. Complete and submit all required forms (copyright agreement, conflict of interest form, etc.).

  • Failure to meet the post-acceptance requirements may delay or prevent publication.

4. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear English.

  • The manuscript should be in Microsoft Word format (.docx).

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.

  • Page numbers should appear in the bottom-right corner.

5. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must include the following sections (in order):

  1. Title Page

    • Title of the paper (concise, informative, no more than 20 words).

    • Full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, and email addresses.

    • Corresponding author indicated with an asterisk (*).

  2. Abstract

    • 150–250 words.

    • Should summarize background, methods, results, and conclusion.

    • Provide 4–6 keywords.

  3. Introduction

    • Present the background, objectives, and significance of the study.

  4. Materials and Methods

    • Provide sufficient detail for replication.

    • State ethical approval when applicable.

  5. Results

    • Present findings clearly with tables, graphs, or figures.

  6. Discussion

    • Interpret results, compare with existing literature, and explain significance.

  7. Conclusion

    • Summarize main findings and highlight future research directions.

  8. Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  9. Conflicts of Interest

    • Authors must declare any potential competing interests.

  10. References

  • Follow APA 7th edition style.

  • Example:

    • Journal Article: Smith, J. A., & Lee, K. (2023). Advances in nanomaterials. Journal of Applied Sciences, 45(3), 120–135. https://doi.org/xxxx

    • Book: Brown, T. (2021). Principles of Biophysics. Springer.

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables must be editable (not images).

  • Figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

  • Number tables and figures consecutively (Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2).

  • Provide captions below figures and above tables.

7. Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited (screened using similarity check software).

  • Studies involving humans or animals must include ethical approval details.

8. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review.

  • Reviewers remain anonymous to authors, and vice versa.

  • Average review time: 4–6 weeks.

9. Licensing and Copyright

  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right of first publication.

  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing sharing and adaptation with proper citation.

10. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • Currently,  publication fees are charged after acceptance ( 100,000 IQD)
